The goal was to update and modernise the logo for a more immediate and professional look. We removed the keywords from the logo image and used them elsewhere as plain text on the site, in order to utilise their SEO value. We then changed the typeface from the Microsoft Windows font Tahoma to Helvetica Neue. The solid, rounded letters of this classic utilitarian typeface have a friendlier and more modern feel. We adjusted the kerning and reduced the amount of the dark #7171d1 colour to emphasise the friendliness. Lastly we corrected the space relationships between elements to create a graphic that was visually balanced. The result is a logo that retains all of bookcareers.com’s original branding but which creates a brighter and more friendly feeling, while presenting a slicker image.
